South tyrolean museum of hunting and fishing

Wolfsthurn Castle, Mareta near Vipiteno

The baroque building is one of the most beautiful castles in Tyrol. Since 1996 it accommodates the museum of hunting and fishing and is open to the public. The museum exhibits the originally furnished ceremonial rooms as well as a rich cultural collection of the hunting and fishing history.

The state rooms remind of the aristocratic life in the 18th and 19th century. All furniture, paintings, family portraits and wallpapers in this exhibition area belong to the original inventory of the castle. The "Forest and Water" walking trail starts at the parish church in Mareta and leads over approx. 1km to the castle. The path is also accessible with a baby carriage.
