Bruneck is a beautiful, historic city with a host of great shops. It can be reached in only half an hour by car. You can visit several museums in one day and gain plenty of insights into the region. At Bruneck Castle, the MMM Ripa museum explores the different ways of life of mountain peoples from around the world. Not far away in Pfalzen/Falzes, is the doll museum, the fire helmet museum in Gais, Mansio Sebatum archaeological museum in St. Lorenzen, and a museum of folklore (closed in winter) which showcases the way of life in South Tyrol over the centuries. Bruneck has a city museum too. The village of Toblach/Dobbiaco lies only 10 minutes from the Edel.Weiss and is known for its nature park visitor centerand the composing house of the Bohemian/Austrian composer, Gustav Mahler.
